Sesamoiditis is normally caused by a foot type rather than a certain exercise. This is why everyone on the team does not have sesamoiditis. Nonetheless, certain sports like figure skating and dancing cause a lot of pressure in this area and can precipitate the injury. The best thing you can do is bring her to a podiatrist who specializes in sports medicine. There are cerain types of orthotics that can be made for tight fitting shoes like figure skates. This should help her foot function properly and relieve her pain.
