Good morning, my son experienced severe pain in his left foot. we had xrays taken and found a hairline facture of the 5th meta tarsal. He has atemporary splint and will see the doctor soon. How does this heel and how long will it usually take if the foot is already immobilized?

Bone takes about four to six weeks to heal after a fracture in most cases. He probably will be put into a cast to make sure he stays off of it until it heals.
