Bipartite sesamoid bone suffererFor months I have been suffering from excruciating pain off and on in the ball of my foot under my big toe on the medial side of my foot. Re: Bipartite sesamoid bone suffererI strongly suggest that you see an orthopedic doctor!!! I was born with club feet and have had some of the best podiatrist over the years. I have a severely fractured medial sesamoid bone and a slightly fracture lateral sesamoid. My orthopedic is a doctor that will do surgery only as a last case situation. I've had 3 knee surgeries in the past 2 years. We did everything we could to avoid these but it was dibilitating not to. I knew I had sesaomiditis but until today we didn't know the extent. He will NOT operate and right now I'm happy sitting in my boot for the next 1-3 months. The sesamoid bones are the tiny bones that help you with your balance. Once they are gone your big toe is fused with the joint in an upward position so you can still walk. There can be sever tissue and ligiment/tendon damage as these bones are loose bones that are between these areas. Do a google search on Sesamoid Bones and you will come up with all sorts of imformation. H0pe this helps
