Sesamoiditis/Sesamoid Fractures

Hi all. I shattered my sesemoid [sesamoid] bone about a week ago. It was so badly shattered that the dr. thought it is actually a re injury of an old fracture, which I do not remember ever doing. I was in a walking cast for a week, which I hated. I am now in a short leg cast which I requested. The only problem now, aside from the showering issue, is that the cast was cut to show my toes. I'm going through the same thing. I shattered mine a year ago in a car accident. I had so many back and neck problems my foot was the last of my worries. Now its crippling me. I've tried the boot but it makes my foot swell up. I also have alot of swelling in the entire ball of my foot and pain in my middle toe but they say nothing else shows up in the ex-rays or MRI. I canceled my scheduled surgery untill I get another opinion. It seems the surgery doesn't always work.
