Post a new topicby livingwith on Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:05 pm

ive just had my steriod injection this morning, as I have a fracture and sclerosis of my sesimoid [sesamoid] bone. wasnt 2 bad, but is really sore at the moment! I have a nice big bruse were he put the injection in!! I have been told that eventualy, I will have to have the bone removed. This is not brilliant news for me as I am a dancer, which means I probably wont be able to dance anymore. Has anyone had the same problem, as I am not quite sure what to do, or where to go next!!

you need to read the story in the June 2008 of the ballet dancer that had the surgery and is no longer a dancer. I was about to have this surgery, but after reading about the problems others have had I have changed my mind. I'd rather have the pain

I know how you feel.

I just had a sesamoidectomy yesterday and I am very excited to find out if will work.

I have had pain in my right foot for 3 years and found out it was the sesmoid bone 4 months ago.

please keep me posted. I start Therapy tomorrow for the plantar fascitis that I have had 4 flare ups since Feb. I am hoping that therapy for this will calm down the sesamoid bone. If not I will need to have that surgery too. I have been wanting to find someone who has had this so I can find out if it works.
