PainHello. I am experiencing pain along the top of my left foot. It runs from where my 2nd toe (beside the big toe) meets the foot, up to the side of the big bone that protrudes from the top of the foot. There is no swelling or redness. I have had an x-ray taken and it is negative. This started several days ago for no apparant reason. I can move my toes without difficulty, but putting pressure on the BALL of my foot is very painful. My PCP seems to think it is nothing and will go away in time. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you, Keith
Re: PainThere are a few small nerves in this area. If you wore tight shoes or ones that stop near the bone protruding from the top of your foot, you may have temporarily damaged a nerve leading to this pain. Therefore, it should get better on its own but if it continues, ask for a referral to a podiatrist.

Re: Re: PainThank you very much for the insight. I had not thought of possible nerve damage. I have worn boots since my teenage years (i am 46 now) so maybe the constant pressure from this has finally caught up with me. I will wait and see how my foot progresses, wear a comfortable shoe and hope for the best. Thanks again.
