Sesamoiditis

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Nov 28, 2001 6:06 pm

I have a bunion that has been causing me pain. However, a podiatrist just diagnosed me as having an extra sesamoid bone that he says is like a "pebble" and he says that is what is causing my pain. (the most pain is upon upward movement of my big toe) I can only wear sneakers. All other shoes hurt. He gave me a steroid shot a couple of hours ago and I hope it works (so far it has not). He said if it does not work he can remove the "extra" bone. He believes that the bunion has caused me to walk in a way that puts more pressure on this extra bone. I have it in my other foot but it does not bother me. Does this make sense? This pain in my big toe and the surrounding area is driving me crazy!!!!
