Post a new topicby livingwith on Fri Aug 17, 2007 2:31 pm

I’m a 39-year-old Australian with fair skin. As a youngster in the 70s, I spent all my days in the blazing sun, unprotected except on occasions when my parents took me to the beach. Nobody worried much about sun protection in those days, and skin cancer was not in the media like it is here today.

This was very good information. I was actually on line trying to find out what the indicator was for using Efudix for 2, 3, or 4 weeks. I had a slight red mark on the outside rim of my mouthmeeting my upper lip. The Dr. was not sure if it was cancer so he gave me Efudix and said to use it for 3 to 4 weeks. I did not think anything of it, now 22 days later I have a very large oozing mess that has gone into the corner of my lip (which cracks) daily. I thought I should keep it dry, but what you said makes sense. So I have a triple antibiotic gel that I am putting on to keep it soft, not sure if that is the right thing to do while I am using efudix. I will contact the Dr. on Monday. Next will purchase the straws.
Thanks very much for taking the time to share your experiences.
