Lump on shoulder

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Jun 18, 2001 10:53 pm

I am a 28 yr old male with a lump on my right shoulder. There is no noticeable skin discoloration in the area, although a small raised area is discernable in the mirror. I first noticed this lump about 6 months ago when I woke up in bed and irritated it by dragging the area across my pillow. It has not increased in size, and I have noticed no exfoliation or scaliness in the area. Is this a cause for concern?

The most common thing it would be is a lipoma. A lipoma is a benign fatty tumor under the skin. it can be tender. You need to be evaluated by a doctor as, although rare, it could be something more serious.
