Melanoma Treatment

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Aug 09, 2001 6:35 pm

Recently had dissection of lymph nodes with 2 out of 5 in the groin - cancerous, and 2 out of 9 in the illiac -- cancerous. All were extra-capular. Doctors at Duke plan to give vaccine every month for 7-months. How effective is vaccine treatment for Stage III melanoma? Or are there other treatment options that may be more effective?

Vaccine therapy is a viable option; other options include high dose interferon. thank you for using oncologychannel.
