French health Spas

Post a new topicby contact778899 on Thu Nov 22, 2007 8:05 pm

I have been in France for a while now and have heard quite a bit about people going to spas for "cures".

For everything from respiratory allergies to arthritis.

There isn't much in English on many of the websites, so I feel a little lost.

I found a website "FrenchHealthSpas.com". It has a glossary and describes the spas a little, but I am interested in what you think bout these therapies.

Can seawater and algae wraps or mineral water vapors and or treatments really be helpful?

Its true people have been using and claiming they work for 100s maybe 1,000s of yrs, but is there any science in it?

They say there is a medical doctor on staff at the spa so that makes me feel good.

Many say the French health care insurance covers their procedures. Everyone says the French health care system is great, so they must be ok?

I would love to find help outside of the pharmaceutical industry and the surgery suite.

Thanks for your help,
