Re: Tarsal tunnelI have recently been diagnosed with Tarsal Tunnel, after having an EMG done. I went to the Ortho MD thinking it was Plantan Fasciatis, only to be told that it was that plus tarsal tunnel. I have friends at work trying to convince me to try acupuncture - I'm not convinced. My MD say that since orthotics have not worked, and NSAIDs have not worked, I am now trying Neurontin for the pain. If this is not effective in the next 3 - 4 weeks, we will discuss surgery. While I am not in favor of surgery, the alternative of having to live with the daily pain, and the lack of sleep (I wake every time I move my foot!) make surgery a really attractive option. I recommend that you ask for an EMG - it was the definative diagnosis for me. I am now just trying to find out more about acupuncture - has anyone tried it, does it work, if it works, how long term?
