TTS-Orthroscopic procedure?Hi everyone. My name is Nancy and I just joined this chat room because I am desperate for options other than surgery. I have had tarsal tunnel syndrome (in both feet) for more than 10 years. In that time I have learned that my problems stem from a hypothroid condition. I started with orthodics to ease the symptoms and soon I could not wear a shoe without them. I have tried every exercise but found it only aggrivates the problem. We have been able to get the PF under control with localized steroid injections, as well as the nerve bundle injections for the TTS. All to no avail. If there is any known TTS-Orthoscopic procedure, I'd love to hear about it. I'm in a job where I'm on my feet up to 12 hrs a day and the pain to walk is getting unbearable. I've got orthotics, wide shoes with additional padding and just have to keep plugging along. The current surgery available for TTS requires a long difficult recovery period and is reported only to be 50 to 60% effective. Any good news would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Re: TTS-Orthroscopic procedure?Hi Nancy and everyone else who may be suffering from TTS:
Thank you for your post on TTS. I am very new with this diagnosis and I am trying to remain optimistic. I have had several injections to date, I even started to take more B12 for my nervous system, and have some good days and some awful ones. I too have not been able to take my puppy for a walk, as I am afraid of the consequences. My life has changed significantly. I was thinking of a thyroid test because I can't seem to lose weight lately, and after reading your post, I was amazed that there could be a correlation. Please let me know the connection, I will be getting a blood test soon. Be well and hang it there. My podiatrist feels I am not ready for surgery, but the pain can be very debilitating. Bab
