UGH!

Post a new topicby livingwith on Fri Apr 03, 2009 11:27 am

It all started about 1 and a half years ago. When I would first get up in the morning my feet would hurt horribly. Then it got to the point where just standing in the shower or cleaning my house was unbearable. I would almost be in tears by the time night came because it hurt so bad. Almost 1 year ago, I went to see my family doctor, who ordered an x-ray. The results came back showing some spurring on my left foot, which has been the worst of the 2. From there, I went to see a podiatrist who dia...Read the full article

My doctor prescribed Lyrica, which has been a godsend for me. Feet still bother me and some days worse than other days, however the pain is tollerable now compared to before. Lyrica is expensive but for me, well worth the money. I have never considered surgery due to everything I have read about it, seems like most have more trouble after surgery than before. I tried physical therapy, it did not help at all.

I feel for you! I went through the same thing and 4 podiatrists. I did have the tarsal tunnel release on my right foot a little over a year ago and it feels great!! Every once in a while I will get a pain, but NOTHING like it was before! Then, in February of this year, I started getting the same horrible pains in my left foot. Well, I just had the TTR on this ankle last week and can already tell the difference. Granted I won't be able to walk for a couple of weeks, but I know it will be well worth it. The key is to find a really good podiatrist. Where do you live?

On another note, I would like to encourage people to write to the TV show "The Doctors" about this condition. I already have as I think there are a lot of people out there suffering from it who don't know what it is because their doctors don't even know what it is. We are some of the lucky-unlucky few who have finally figured out what the problem is.

Dear ugh, I know what you mean. I am now desparate with this condition. I have had the right foot released with no improvement . It has been six months since the surgery. My pain is worse and now I get this new cycle which I have had at least 3 times in the last 3 weeks .I have started to journal everyday as long term disibility is on my back because my dumb surgeon cant understand why the surgery didnt take. From what I can see its only a 50 percent improvement rate and obviously you are one of the fortunate ones that it worked on. I have to do more research. Chow
