undiagnosed ankle painFor four years I have had pain in my ankle around the medial malleolus, along the route of the posterior tibialis. I have orthotics and have had a number of MRI’s. I have seen the top specialists in England. My ankles, particularly my left one is incredibly tight, weak and inflexible. But any attempts at stretching or proproception exercises results in pain and no inprovement. It affects my life in every way. I can not go out in the dark, as if I cannot see the ground and I walk on a slope...Read the full article
Re: undiagnosed ankle painI know exactly how you feel. I have been searching online to find help as well. In March, I will be suffering from chronic pain for exactly four years. I am only a teenager and have already undergone tons of MRI's, X-rays, I had surgery, and tons of shots and needles...about 10 or more a year including crotozon shots and other things. I had an arthroscopy (sorry I am bad at spelling technical terms) and the pain is just getting worse. My ankle has very little flexibility and the pain originated on the top part of the left ankle. Every time my ankle is nudged or simply brushed upon accidently, I have extreme shots of pain that shoot thought me that cause me to tear up. I have to constantly be aware of where I am walking as you said above as if i walk on a slope step in a crack etc...the same pain shoots throughout me sometimes causing me to fall down in pain. I am out of all sports and activity and i am also constantly kept awake by the pain I receive. I have gone through 5 or 6 doctors who have all in the end referred me to other doctors because they said they couldn’t help. I have tried acupuncture and other stuff for the nerves, I as said before had surgery...and now I am using this device
http://www.bio-medicine.org/medicine-products/OL1000-Bone-Growth-Stimulators-8325-1/ which isn’t working so far. And I have given it time. I can’t do anything anymore and its really affecting me as I am a kid who cant even do his caddying job anymore because it hurts to much. For the compensation of my foot during times of walking, my heel, my joints, me knee, my lower back and so much more are also being affected. Sometimes out of nowhere, I will be walking and for no reason, the pain will hit me really bad where i collapse or have to stop and lay down. Ice doesn’t seem to help, I don’t have swelling. My leg is atrophied from surgery and never has gained fully back and I am using at least 3-4 ibuprofen a day for the last 3 in a half years...without it I can't walk...trust me I have tried to go a day without the pain killer. Basically I am saying that if anyone has any ideas, livingwith and I would greatly appreciate any input. It is extremely difficult to deal with, and neither of us want to have this. If you could help either of us, you would help make a miracle.
