do i have TTS?

Post a new topicby jladalsk on Sun May 25, 2008 4:25 pm

K, so i'm not really sure if i have TTS but based on my symptoms and what i've read online it sounds like it. Maybe you can help clarify this after hearing my story.

I have been getting a VERY sharp, tingling pain in my right foot, on the inner side near the ankle for over 5 or 6 years now I believe. It only appears every so often at random moments, but the pain seems like it lasts forever sometimes when i'm experiencing it. I can't move my foot and my toes (big toe and the one next to it) look and feel as tho they're paralyzed in one spot. If i move them while my foot is experiencing this "spasm" the pain worsens. I remember one time when my foot was in pain i tried moving it and the pain ran up my leg and I started crying from how much it was hurting.

I had never felt like i should go to the doctor because I thought that they woudln't be able to understand what's going on unless they're seeing me while my foot is having this spasm. Now, after talking with my grandma about my mom's carpal tunnel, i put 2 and 2 together and figured i had somethign similar, only in my foot.

I'm still in school don't have insurance so i'm really worried about the costs for treating whatever i have. Even just the appointment and the X-ray are going to be hard enough for me to afford.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? Maybe i don't even have TTI but I feel like i should still get it checked out if i am experiencing the pain, even though it only happens every 5 months or so. I'm just really worried that it will get worse as I get older if i don't try to do something about it now. THen again, if it's genetic there's not much i can do other than get medication for the pain.

just to add to this, I do notice when my foot is experiencing this pain that it looks like there's a little circular bulge on the inner side of my foot where the pain is located. This "buldge' doesn't protrude as much or is as "tense" when I'm not experiencing the pain. This also scares me a little and makes me think there might be a cyst in my foot? should i be worried?
