foot painmy foot has been hurting for a very long time and nothing has helped. i have had 6 shots for heel spurs, which seemed to help the heel but the pain is still bad around the back on the edge and across the top. my current doctor has no idea what else to do. i was even put in a hard cast for 5 weeks. no meds work on releiving this pain. i would like to know if there is anyway to definately find out what is wrong with my foot so it could be treated and i can live a normal life with activities. the doctor is now at a point of guessing and is going to send me for an MRI and i was wondering if that would definately tell him what else is going on besides the spur . any help or advice is greatly appreciated. thank you
Re: foot painAn MRI is an excellent choice for treating a condition where the diagnosis is not clear. It will show any type of inflammation which is the most common cause of pain. However, if the MRI does not show any problems, you may want to ask about nerve conduction studies to check for tarsal tunnel syndrome.
