Have You Been Successful With Conservative Treatments?

I am reading all the horror stories about surgery and I'm fortunate my foot dr. believes in injecting saline in my foot before going the all-out route of surgery because it doesn't seem like a walk in the park. I have been suffering since the summer of 2008 and my foot finally gave out totally in September of that year. Diagnosis then was plantar faciitis. After treating the PF with many treatments and not responding my foot was finally injected with cortizone in Dec. of 2008. Things seemed better for a while but a "background" pain was always present so I knew something was up and I found myself back at the doctor in Mar. 2008. That's when the doctor thought there might be an underlying issue. After manipulatinge my foot the doctor seems to think TSS might be involved so I'm scheduled for a nerve conduction study to confirm his suspicions. Once that is hopefully confirmed he'll inject with saline solution a few times and that should do the trick, hopefully. My question is has anyone been successful with this conservative treatment because I haven't seen it discussed here?
