Newly diagnosed Tarsal TunnelHello all. I've enjoyed reading other people's stories. I have just been diagnosed and I hope it's the right diagnosis. I've found a foot doctor and he seems pro-active and is completing lots of tests . I am hoping to get validation that other's have experienced similiar symptoms.
It started with a pain in the back of my leg while walking. Then I realized I was rubbing my legs right above the knee everytime I sat down- an ache. Then my both my feet started hurting all the time-especially the ball of the foot and they felt hot and burning. (Sometimes my hands do too) Now the pain goes from my hips over the front of my theigh and down to my feet. My theighs ache! The worst is in the morning before I get out of bed. I take 2 tramadol and wait for the pain to subside before I get out of bed and take a hot bath. Generally, once I get out of bed I can push through the pain, but can't stand for long and can't wait to get home and rest. This pain is changing how I choose to spend my time and its having consequences on my quality of life. I've always been a energetic person, but now I feel like a failing energizer bunny! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Mickey

there are indeed many tests that would benefit an accurate diagnosis...my first and foremost suspicion would be an MRI of the spine with specific reference to the lumbar and sacral areas...generally speaking the proponderance of tarsal tunnel syndromes present with local symptoms unless there is another contributing factor...your presentation and progression are atypical for a true solo TT... thanks Dr.L
Re: Newly diagnosed Tarsal TunnelThis definitely sounds like more than tarsal tunnel. I would get a nerve conduction study done too.
