Pain in Fatty Pocket

Post a new topicby jayboy on Thu Apr 10, 2008 5:19 pm

\My Podiatrist hasn't put a name on it except to call it a fatty pocket that sometimes gets irritated and occasionally needs to be removed. I can't find anything on the subject. The pain is located just in front of what I call the ankle bone, Talus Bone?? He has given me 3 shots into the soft tissue there with no help, 2 months of PT which just seemed to aggravate it, a MRI which showed nothing in that area. It did show some arthritis in the area of the upper foot but not where the pain is. I also wore a boot for 5 weeks with no help. In fact that ended up killing my opposite hip, the SI joint they say. Doing PT on that now.

After seeing him for 4 1/2 months he looked at the feet together and decided that I may have an extra 1/4" length on the paining foot/leg. This week I started wearing foam pads under the opposite heal. Only 2 days now so nothing yet.

The foot is not stable when walking on uneven surfaces like in my yard. Walk around the house OK with only some soreness in the ankle but when I step down with a side twist it hurts bad and just get worse as I use it.

Has anyone experienced this and can help me understand what is going on and have any success stories.
