Pain in feetHi!
My boyfriend is 53 years old and has TERRIBLE pain in his legs and feet. He was a body builder and weight lifter for years until about 10 years ago he was hit by a drunk driver. Since then he has lived in pain. he thinks his feet pain is coming from his back or neck but the MRI's and x-rays are not leading doctors to that conclusion. They are stumped. He just started with a chiropractor I keep looking for answers. His feet feel cold most of the time and are very sensitive. he can't wear tight socks-the more worn out they are the better and if he could just wear loose fitting slippers it would be better than shoes. He says sometimes they feel like hot daggers are being shoved in his feet or that he is walking on hot coals. As you can imagine his pain level is usually great. He takes Celebrex,Neurotin, multi Vitamin,B12 ,MSM, and Colloidal minerals. The doctor suggested some Narcotics for some pain relief BUT he is ADAMANT that he will not take them. His mother died at the age of 67 and his father at the age of 64 of heart attacks. His two sisters have varicose veins and he himself had a varicose vein removed maybe in 1988 . He said it was removed because it was sticking out too far. He has tried acupuncture but that actually made him worse. Frankly I think I did not research the acupuncturist enough and she was not that great. He rarely drinks, has never smoked and eats right. Any suggestions as to what is wrong? Could it be TTS? Thank You Cindy
Re: Pain in feetIt could be TTS but it is unlikely. The fact that his feet are cold is the part that concerns me. Some people get a syndrome known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy(RSD)when they have trauma occur. This is definitley a possibility. You may also want to try to find a pain clinic also. They have continuous new ways of deliver medicine only to the spot that hurts. It is very new and works very well. Good luck and please write back if you have any other questions.
