I have pain and what appears to be a swollen area on the top part of my foot above the instep. I do have a high instep. Pain has been a recent happening although I am approching 65. Any ideas I should explore? Please help.

Sorry that you are experiencing pain. Have you seen a doctor? I am uncertain as to what is meant by the instep. There are so many things that all of this could be. The pain usually drives me to the doctor but whatever it is do something about it cause my experiencing is that putting off treatment has only led to bigger surgeries and more pain. It never got better for me until I had the surgeries.
