You have to clarify if it is the outer side of the foot (lateral side ,the side under the pinky toe which is the side that makes a foot print) or the arch of the foot or the medial side which is the side under your big toe.
Also, what kind of pain is it? cramping? sharp? burning? deep ache? stabbing? throbbing? pins and needles? like electricity going thru the foot?

Oh, please tell me that someone knows something about this. I have been searching for help with pain that is on the underside of the foot--but NOT on the arch. Rather, it's on the side of the foot farthest from the arch. It started in the middle of a run, and it came out of nowhere (there was no aching prior to the throbbing; I didn't stumble; I wear really good running shoes and good regular shoes throughout the day). I haven't been able to walk normally for two days, now. I know it wasn't due to overtraining, either--I only run about 9 miles a week, and had taken 2 days off prior to the run where the pain began. The shoes are relatively new...I'm not sure about treatment or anything.
