Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

My husb had a emg/nsv study April of 1999 on his own. test showed a positive finding of Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome Due to his workmen's comp carrier, he has not yet received treatement. After fighting fighting, y wanted ir own test to be done. My husb had anor emg done a couple of weeks ago. test showed no nerve damage, nor any tarsel tunnel. Is possible? Can tarsal tunnel go away on own out treat. own doctor permed first test best in county. My next question is, my husb had injury since Dec. of 1997, is re a chance treatments won't work if he indeed does still have it?

Yes, permanent damage may have occured due to the long term damage. These emg/ncv tests are not that accurate. The actual diagnosis of TTS can be made wothout them as well. Therefore, the doctor you first saw is probably the one you should trust and receive treatment from. There are many treatments that do work even after long term symptoms so do not give up hope. Therefore, make sure you go to the doctor you believe in and trust. Good luck and have a nice day.
