Tarsal Tunnel Release FailureHello,
I am a 37 year old woman who is a nurse by profession. In the last year I was diagnosed with TTS in both of my feet. I had a TTS release in March on the right foot and The same surgery on my left in June. The left foot has never gotten better. I have had increased nerve pain in the top of my foot into the 3 larger toes and in my arch and up the back of my leg. I have been back to my Dr several times for re-evaluation. He repeated the EMG and found that my nerve conduction is still delayed exactly the same as before surgery. He says that this is a normal occurance for up to 6 months post-op. He also found that I have developed keyloid scaring in the area. He has since then treated me with cortisone injections that have done little to ease this horrible pain.Is there anything else out there that can be done to help this?
Re: Tarsal Tunnel Release FailurePhysical therapy can help some people with TTS. Another option is to take oral medications that ease nerve pain. Neurontin is one popular medicine that can help people with severe nerve pain. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
