Tarsal Tunnel Surgery

Post a new topicby Guest on Sat Apr 06, 2002 3:43 am

Help, I had tarsal tunnel release dec 11, I am still in severe pain. I had xrays, mri and a nerve study. My orth surgeon after these tests stated the release was done and his job was done. The tests I assume were negative because he stated the release was done and maybe I would have to be patient. I have been on crutches since Dec, HELP! He told me to take anti inflam and vicoidn and come back next month. I need another opinion. the pain is worse than before the surgery , I havent worked since sept7. Anything you could tell me would be helpful . Thanks

You should get a second opinion. If the doctor you saw cannot offer you any other treatment options and you are still in so much pain that you are out of work, a second opinion is definitely your next step. I am also surprised the doctor did not tell you the results of these studies because they all have important information.

heath:
try farinfrared therapy - also pls call dr dellon office and ask him for a referral of a dr. in your area 410-467-5400
you might also want to try hydrotherapy therapy (put your foot in hot water for a few minutes and then into cold water for a few minutes and due this fback and forth 8 or so times - the idea is to promote circulation to the site - another therapy you could try is prolotherapy - look for an osteopath dr. inyour area that does this type of therapy.
good luck
