tarsal tunnelI've been diagnosed with tarsal tunnel and will be having surgery on Dec 26,
My question are do you recommend to also check the upper tarsal at the time of surgery, what would be the deciding factor to do so?The nerve conductor test shows at least 50% blockages Also would you be having pains on the planter fascia, how would you tell if something was wrong with it? Is there A way to check this at the time of surgery? What can I expect after surgery healing time? I have a full time job of alot of walking and standing,no sitting at all.
Sponsored LinksRe: tarsal tunnelThe tarsal tunnel needs to be visualized during surgery to decide what exactly needs to be performed. Plantar fasciitis as well as a nerve entrapment of a branch of the tibial nerve are both possibilites for your extra pain and your surgeon should be able to diagnose the problem. Surgery should relieve about 80% percent of the pain after surgery and the final 20% should go away over time as the area heals. Total healing time takes about 8-12 weeks. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.

Re: tarsal tunnelHi,
I was wondering how you typically feel after surgery. I have had a lot of pain after the surgery and I am wondering what is normal. I also was wondering how often you should be applying Partial weight bearing one week post op and if stiches cause additional pain in the area of surgery. Thanks. Kassie
