TTS has changed my lifeI have now lived without feeling my toes and the soles of my feet for over 3 months now. I am 42 and have a 3 month old son at home.. I thought having a child would change my life, but TTS has changed my life.
Prior to maternity leave, I was working in the hospital as a Registered Nurse, now I will be a stay at home mom for a very long time... I am grateful for the time I have with my son, but I am sad at not being able to do the things that I used to do.. Please, don't take your foot/ankle/arch/heal problems lightly, everyday I loose a little more hope that I will ever regain feeling in my toes/soles... I have one more week to discuss surgery with my podiatrist but I am scared as all the literature I have read says that having TTS surgery is a "one shot deal" ~ It is for my son Connor that I find the strength to go on ~ sincerely onepugluvr :(
Re: TTS has changed my lifeI had tts surgery. I had no other choice as i couldn't go for walk or go shopping without pain. It was a long haul but glad i did it. I had the surgery on 2/15/08 and i can now walk abut 6 miles with very little pain. I still have some numbness (which i didn't have prior to the surgery) my doctors says it could take a year to go away and for the nerve to fully grow back they only grow a a millimeter a month which is about a inch.
I was laid up the first week, and on cruches for a good month. with a small baby i couldn't have done it. My husband cooked for me and my 16 year old for that month i worked but i have a office job, it was hard the pain was there. i had to elevate my foot on my desk on a pillow most of the day. The incission took about 2 months to close and then i could start thearpy i just finished that a week ago. you have to be determend to go back 100percent or it will keep you down Brenda
Re: TTS has changed my lifeI go see my podiatrist next week, we will discuss surgery after the results of my blood work. He told me that bilateral TTS occurs, but it is very uncommon.... Not sure what to think
I have seen very few positive posts regarding surgery for TTS... Thanks for the reply kim
Re: TTS has changed my lifeI had TTS in my R foot. I try everything: meds, injections, stretching, I don't walk bare foot at all. I am 26 yrs old. I had a 6 yr old boy and a 4 yr old girl. My doctor toll me that now the only option is get the surgery, but I am not sure about that. On april I had plantar fasciotomy on the same foot, the doctor say that the scar tissue is commpressing the nerve, that is why I had the TTS. The recovery from this surgery was kind a hard, I was on crutches for a while. I am really scare about another surgery, if I do it, is because I know is going to work. I want to know if you have the surgery and how was you recovery.
