Morton's Neuroma

I have morton's neuroma and have tried a 6-step alcohol injection proceedure. Eventually the pain returned. I want to avoid surgery and was told that cyrogenic technology might be the next step (pardon the pun). Anyone try this process and is it effective?

I had this procedure done on my left foot about 3 years ago. It's the BEST way to go. I have very bad feet. Since the age of 17 I have had 4 surgeries on my feet..from bunions to neuromas. I had the old stand by cut the nerve in the same foot on the 3rd toe. But that required surgery, stiches and wearing a slipper for about a month. The Cryo surgery was done in the doctor's office with a local. Granted the local shots do hurt but once it's numb you feel nothing only the hearing of the cyro needle doing it's job. After the surgery and the numbness wore off it was uncomfortable mostly due to the irration of the actual cryo needle. I was given only 3 celebrex's which worked and within about 5 hours I was up and moving around with NO pain what so ever. I have never had a problem since the surgery. I now need it in my other foot!

I am 27, an athlete and in a very bad situation. I am currently going alcohol injections. I am considering doing the whole orthopedic supports to displace the pressure, but I need to fix this problem. I have read the post on how this surgery worked for you, so my question is are you able to run with no pain? Also can you give me more info on this procedure. Hello, Thanks to this forum I found a Dr who preformed this last week and it works.Before anyone has painful surgery try this. Depending on where you live there is only a few drs who do this procedure,I found this one in Minnesota footandankleclinics. I hope this helps.

Hi Terry,It is about 75% better but it has only been 10 days.The Dr did say some people may need 2 times.

Glad to hear the cryo is working. The docs in So Cal are using it for heals only. My new doc, my old doc's partner, said the alcohol will do the same job only hurt more and take longer. He does 10 injections one week apart. You cannot skip a treatment. He's heard the cryo works but doesn't have one. Did and MRI and it came back with enlarged nerve and lots of scar tissue from the previous surgery. By the way the first MRI place was going to bill $1500 per foot, $3000, and 90%. They wanted $300 from me and I'm on Cobra. I told the doc and he gave me another place who will gladly take the $2700 and write off the $300 after the bill. EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE. He also said he will use the second MRI center more. We will address the scare tissue later. I will let you know in 10 weeks.

I'm also in SoCal and my doc said the same thing, but I gave up after the 3rd shot. Now -tomorrow, I'm driving to Glendale for cryosurgery. They charge $500/ foot. That's cheaper than the stinking alcohol shots. Google: [moderator note: personal information has been removed].

Hey Randy and Fabio, I am back online after a month and a half of no computer. My son had to fix it and he lives 400 miles from me, but Its FINALLY back. How are you both? Bob is still suffering, the cryo in November did not help, unsure of where to go from here, do another cryo or try acupuncture.
